Currently a group for those interested in helping create a repair cafe in Peoria, IL. A repair cafe is a place where volunteers help others repair a wide range of items (based on available volunteer expertise) for free. Donations will be accepted/encouraged in order to help offset cost of materials purchased by volunteers for repairs, any snacks/drinks provided, and advertising materials (flyers, newspaper announcements, etc).
The purpose is for people to get help repairing items (maybe learn how to fix it themselves), to keep items out of landfills and extend their value to the owner.
